ET Casting are currently looking for Care Workers and their Care Recipients for a new campaign for the Department of Health & Social Care. The campaign will be all about the special connection that care workers and care recipients share & we’re looking for people who are happy to tell us about their experience of working together.
We’re looking for people and stories from all across the UK - from care workers who visit people in their homes, to those who work in care homes as well as Shared Lives carers along with their care recipients with a range of needs.
We are open to everyone but we’re also hoping to find unexpected pairings – perhaps a young care worker has struck up a strong relationship with a much older care recipient? Or maybe two people from very different backgrounds have managed to find common ground and developed a lovely friendship?
The aim of the campaign is to boost recruitment in the care sector, promoting the amazing work the sector does by demonstrating how rewarding a career in this field can be.

You would be either a care worker, personal care assistant, activity support worker, domiciliary care worker, rehabilitation support worker or Shared Lives carer - and your care recipient must be 18+ years of age.

We’re looking to cast care worker/care recipient duos to showcase the types of jobs in care available through filming each of the following scenarios:

• Domiciliary Care - Out of home care e.g. travelling on the London underground
  
• Shared Lives Care - In home care e.g. helping with shopping into the house
  
• Care Home Care - e.g. serving tea or helping with mobility

Payment is £1500 per person and this is to cover your time on the filming day and the usage of the campaign.

Shoot will be taking 1 day w/c December 16th, or w/c January 6th.

Location will be locked down once we have our cast - shoot will likely remain local to their area.

How do I apply?

1. Application Form

2. Casting Video
We need a submitted form AND a short casting video from both care worker & care recipient together to be considered for this project. Please submit the form (above) first, then film your video & upload it as per below instructions.
*(We'd need you both on camera next to each other in frame and both speaking, if able) - you can just film this on your smartphone as long as we can see and hear you clearly.

1. Please (both) introduce yourself & tell us a bit about you - location of care, how long have you known each other & been working together etc
2. Please give us a brief rundown of your day to day with your recipient of care
3. What are the things that you enjoy doing together that really highlights your special connection? Perhaps it is something you do together, a place you go, or a pastime that has really brought you together?
4. (Care recipient) Do you have any passions or hobbies that your care worker helps you make the most out of? E.g maybe fashion conscious, or really into a sport or team, or love cooking? If it’s something you care about, and something your care worker makes sure you get the most out of, we’d love to know about it.
5. What do you like about each other, are there any qualities that you particularly appreciate?
6. (Care worker question) How did you get into care? Is there anything about the job that people may not know - or perhaps something you didn’t know before you got into care?
